Amy Kane-Coyne was born in Boston in 1973 - in January - a Capricorn -and moved to the Berkshires of western Massachusetts when she was 5 years old  at which time she was already drawing -- growing up with both parents as artists, art supplies were always handy and creating art was encouraged if not a way of life .

She works in mixed-media  with acrylic-- water color-- ink -pencil-and oil pastel -- she created several children's books for her sons - and she creates illustrated cartoons of adult women's  life - slices of life with dialogue . She also enjoys landscape painting - and leans toward abstraction.

She enjoys gardening,  cooking , repurposing cast off treasures found at thrift stores or tag sales  and writing short fiction. She has two sons 14 & 12 years old .

You can find her page : Amy's illustrations on Facebook.

Her paintings are whimsical and intuitive and every brush stroke  has a purpose .
